Dysregulation of the processing and stability of mRNA encoding oncogenes or tumour suppressor proteins is a critical event in the pathogenesis of cancer. Previously, we demonstrated that the proto-oncogene PTTG-binding factor (PBF) is overexpressed in thyroid, pituitary and breast tumours.
